What’s New?
The Honda HR-V is a brand new car for 2016. A compact crossover, it also slots in below the CR-V in the lineup of Honda, providing a marginally more car-like driving experience, while still being more rugged than a Civic. The original model of Honda HR-V ( which was launched back in 1998) is another contender car model for the “world’s first ever crossover.” The new model, which will arrive during the summer of 2016, boasts of two of the biggest strengths by Honda: superb practicality and space-age design.
Exterior Features
Hidden rear door handles and the upswept side character line provide the Honda HR-V a youthful and sporty appearance, and the standard 17-inch aluminum wheels make sure that each trim level looks stylish. The design is appealing and well-balanced, even though an attractive little crossover features a chubby-cheeked visage.
Comparing the 2016 Honda HR-V with the Honda Fit, with which it shares its platform, the Honda HR-V provides an extra 1.7 inch of ground clearance, for an overall of 6.7 inches.
Interior Features
When fitted with a gray interior, the cabin of HR-V takes on an attractive two-tone look thanks to its lower door panel coverings, black carpets, and dashboard top. This, combined with exposed stitching on the dashboard, the line of vents in front of the passenger, and clean design elements, provides the HR-V a simple elegance regularly lacking in this type of car. Technology
Today, instead of just fumbling for your keys, only use a tiny button on the outside door handle and even unlock all the doors on the HR-V with a smart entry system. Once inside, appreciate the available push-to-start button with your keys still in your handbag or pocket.
Moreover, the 2016 Honda HR-V boasts an SMS text message function and Bluetooth HandsFreeLink. The text message function lets the system to read any incoming text messages while the HandsFreeLink utilizes voice-control technology to send hands-free calls from your smartphone. Engine/ Fuel Efficiency
The 2016 Honda HR-V is driven by a 141-HP 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine matched to a six-speed manual transmission. A continuously variable transmission (CVT) which operates as an automatic system is available. The base HR-V gets an EPA-estimated 25/34 MPG city/highway which is pretty typical for the subcompact SUV.
Safety
The HR-V’s safety features include ABS, stability control, and traction control as well as the hill start feature and the tire-pressure-monitoring system. The HR-V is fitted with dual-stage front side airbags, front airbags, and the side-curtain airbag.
