Designed as one of the most fashionable small SUV with the Range Rover badge, the Range Evoque became an instant hit after it went on sale back in 2011. Land Rover has even planned a convertible version of this model so as to further boost its appeal. That said, the Range Evoque is just like any other Land Rover model underneath.
Exterior Features
The 2016 model is a small, luxury crossover SUV available in 2-door (Coupe) and 4-door body styles. The 4-door comes in 4 trim levels: SE Premium, base SE, HSE Dynamic and HSE. The 2-door is available only in HSE Dynamic trims and SE Premium. Standard on the Evoque SE are 18″ alloy wheels, heated exterior mirrors, and automatic windshield wipers.
Interior Features
Standard features include automatic climate control, push-button start, a USB port, Bluetooth, an 11-speaker Meridian audio system, emergency brake assist, a rearview camera, front and rear parking sensors, and the InControl Touch infotainment system with an eight-inch touchscreen. Also standard; an eight-way power front seat with four-way power lumbar control
Available features include an HD Radio, panoramic sunroof, satellite radio, and a 17-speaker Meridian audio system.
Technology
Standard tech features include an eight-way power front seat with four-way power lumbar control, a rear backup camera, front and rear parking sensors, an 11-speaker 380-watt Meridian sound system, Bluetooth, eight-inch touchscreen audio with InControl Plus, and the USB/iPod interface.
A Wi-Fi hot spot with an integrated 3G antenna, head-up display, navigation, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, driver drowsiness monitoring, a 360-degree camera system, automatic parallel and perpendicular park assist, and the rear-seat entertainment system all come as optional.
Engine/ Fuel Efficiency
Under the hood of 2016 model is a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine obtained from Ford but with many Land-Rover-inspired improvements. The peppy 2.0-liter generates 240 HP and 380 lb-ft of torque, matched to a nine-speed automatic transmission. The Evoque can go from 0-60 mph in a remarkable 7.1 seconds. The EPA rates its fuel economy at 21/30 MPG city/highway – a combined 24 mpg.
Safety
The Evoque is loaded with several advanced safety technologies, including traction control, anti-lock brakes, electronic brake force distribution, corner brake control, emergency brake lights and emergency brake assist, dynamic stability control, trailer stability assist, roll stability control, hill-start assist, gradient release control, hill-descent control, and engine drag torque control.
