With growing concerns about cost efficiency, security, direct access to information, disaster recovery, scalability, and flexibility, most organizations are looking into hybrid cloud storage solutions today, most of which have the potential to cater to these concerns. Hybrid cloud storage solutions have proven to be major contributors in satisfying companies with their needs. A hybrid Cloud is an integrated computing service combining both private and public models, enabling the benefits of both services. Simply put, if a company can switch between a public cloud and a private cloud by adopting various software applications then that cloud becomes a hybrid cloud.
The advantage is that it significantly reduces server downtimes in case of a server malfunction. Another feature is that you can manage peak loads without having any bandwidth issues because another server will give additional resources for such matter. In a nutshell, your website does not rely on one server, but a number of servers that work together.
Despite its cost, Rackspace is one of the best hybrid cloud storage solutions out there today. Rackspace offers three plans: Public Cloud, Private Cloud, and Hybrid Cloud. Public cloud is the cheapest where it offers flexible plans and pay-as-you-go program for only $15 per month. However, a Private Cloud is like VPS for cloud hosting. It uses OpenStack, an operating system for cloud-based hosting systems. On the other hand, the hybrid cloud plan is where you can run OpenStack cloud in your data center or connect to a public cloud Rackspace.
2. Microsoft Cloud Solutions
Microsoft Cloud Solutions is a cloud hosting solution offered by Microsoft that runs on their own cloud platform, Microsoft Azure. The plan they offer is a pay-as-you-go type and costs $0.12 per hour per computing, $0.15 per GB of storage, and $0.10 for every storage transaction. The basic web edition is only $9.99 per month, and the business edition is only $99.99 per month. Moreover, it is highly scalable and uses automatic scaling and is an open platform. Most importantly, this piece of software can support both Microsoft and non-Microsoft operating systems and languages.
3. iCloud Hosting
iCloud Hosting is another one of the most popular hybrid cloud storage solutions available known for its affordability. On top of their reasonable pricing, the site offers domain registrations and VPS. iCloud Hosting is known for providing the best service and has optimal reliability.
4. Linode Cloud Servers
Linode Cloud Servers is a hosting provider that permits scalable deployment of applications in which an individual can boot virtual machines or nodes on any software or application. The smallest plan has about 512MB of ram, 20GB of storage, and 200GB of bandwidth and costs $19.95. Whereas the larger plan has 4096 MB of RAM, 160GB storage, and 1600GB of bandwidth and costs $159.95 per month.
5. GoGrid Cloud Hosting
GoGrid is less famous than the other four. However, it is still one of the top hybrid cloud storage solutions that gets raves about its fast and reliable servers. In fact, they were getting rave reviews about their servers even when they were just starting out. Their most affordable server, the X-Small, has 512MB of RAM, a storage space of 25GB, and costs $18.13 per hour. Whereas their more expensive server, the XXX-Large, has 24GB of ram, 800GB of storage space, and is $870 per month.
